• Collisions and accidents: In Canada, a drone collided with a Skyjet aircraft — the first incident of its kind, according to the Minister of Transport. A drone also collided with a firefighting aircraft in California, USA, near the Palisades fire.

• Europe on alert: The succession of drone sightings in Norway and Denmark, which forced the closure of airports, was classified as a “systematic operation” and a “hybrid attack” by authorities. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen warned that “our critical infrastructure is at risk.”

• Identification challenge: At the main naval base in Karlskrona, Sweden, unidentified drones were sighted over the archipelago, just a few kilometres from the military installation. Despite multiple reports and an investigation for violating aviation law, none of the devices were recovered and no suspects were identified — highlighting the failure of traditional systems to link the device to the operator.
